The further development of small to large scale biomethane production is crucial to be able to upgrade small biogas plants to biomethane production and therefore make them more flexible and profitable in comparison to plants producing biogas only. With biomethane there are new possibilities given in its end use, such as the direct grid injection on the one side or the use as a transport fuel on the other side.
With most of the biogas upgrading technologies available on the market so far, it is only economically viable to integrate into large scale biogas plants. New, energy efficient technologies are needed to be able to utilize the biogas upgrading option also at small to medium scale biogas plants in the future. In the framework of the European funded Horizon 2020 project Record Biomap new technology solutions along the biomethane supply chain are monitored and if possible supported with dissemination activities to foster the use of research outcomes by the industry.
The following database has been developed in the frameword of Record Biomap and will be updated regularly. Stakeholders interested in finding consortium partners for the implementation of new projects can always contact the Record Biomap project partners for support or directly search the Biomethane Map for contacts.
